Our Statement of Purpose

The Little Acorn Patch Children’s Centers were created to provide a safe, nurturing and academically stimulating environment for children without regard to race, sex, color, creed or handicap, provided we can meet the needs of the child.

Our objectives in fulfilling this purpose are:
• Because we realize that each child is unique, we strive to meet individual needs for structured activities, discoveries, understanding, compassion, support, security, and respect.
• Because children learn through experience, we provide many activities which encourage social interactions, expression of feelings, and self concept.
• Because children excel at what they enjoy most, we strive to instill a earning for knowledge in each child by encouraging curiosity, by providing rich and stimulating experiences, by expanding their horizons.
• Children are encouraged to speak standard English, and to improve verbal skills in order to gain self-confidence.
• Many stimulating activities are provided to improve sensory manipulative skills, problem solving abilities, and to develop good listening skills.

We aim to be a model of professionalism in the field of early childhood education. Specialized educational and relevant work experiences of our staff are major factors in the quality and effectiveness of our program. We do not discriminate by sex, race, color, political belief or handicap.

It is our procedure that both parents and the child visit The Little Acorn Patch prior to enrolling, to allow both parents and our staff an opportunity to exchange information and to arrive at a joint decision about the admission of the child.
